so i have been trying to post every weekend when we have a family day…but this post is a month old. oh well, enjoy! this was a weekend one of the girls was under the weather so we ended up staying home. yet it ended up being just what we needed…a quiet art day!
you will also notice the title of this blog says heart AND art. yes we did eat chicken hearts for dinner, courtesy of this recipe. we really like the hearts but not the gizzards as much. and yes, if you are dying for this recipe…i will translate it!
not a lot of sleep was slept last night.
we didn’t all wake up with a smile.
no one said life would be easy.
but that doesn’t mean it can’t be an adventure.
because He makes all things beautiful in His time.
genesis 1:31 ~ God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.
have a blessed and wonderful sunday today…even if you didn’t sleep last night. 😉
we are just starting to delve into legos. truth be told, we are staying away from character or movie sets and sticking to generic-use-your-imagination sets. i can’t wait to add this set to our collection.
then mcdonald’s went and got how to train your dragon toys. TEN different dragons. i had never succumbed to mcdonalds toys before, but now i have. we still need two more, i confess.
do these kids come any cuter? i would argue no.
we try and do some sort of family activity every weekend…and i thought it would be fun to try and blog about each one. but of course last week found the girls sick as could be. addy was sicker on friday and feeling better by sunday. mercy, you can see is still pretty sick and basically only got dressed and ready for an hour or two in the late morning. still we managed to get some smiles.
started the morning around 4am this way…
decided since we couldn’t go to church, we would still pick out our favorite dresses…
yogurt with a cherry for snack!
dinner…which we are working on manners and serving ourselves:
hoping next weekend is healthier!
yesterday was america’s independence day and although we aren’t in the states right now we usually enjoying celebrating usa holidays also. hey we like celebrating ALL the holidays we can get, hehehe.
but instead of sparklers and singing and games, i confess i drugged them and bribed them with a skittle for a smile. and you know what addy said? “thanks mama…but i will just smile, k? can i save my skittle for tomorrow?”
it’s a nasty little infection, i must say.
then we snuggled on the sofa and watched movies for the rest of the day.
the weather is still crazy around here. pretty much everyone agrees. we haven’t really had more than a handful of “hot” days…gosh, we haven’t had very many warm days either! and the rain? seriously. so much rain this spring. i don’t know a lot about crops but while you might be thinking “you shouldn’t complain, rain is good for the crops!” i have actually been told by a few locals that there is too much rain for the crops this year. who knew?! these pictures are just a few phone pictures i snapped while walking to our team house to work. i ended up going completely child free which somehow became a nature walk of sorts. it had been a beautifully sunny day, clouded up and dumped water for about thirty minutes and then gone back to being sunny. it was gorgeous to say the least!
although i did have to get around this lovely adventure.
